Repeat 4: Carnival, Abstract, Vampire and Landscape

A 2021 series that follows a repetitive theme. The four broad themes are: Carnival, Abstract, Vampire, and Landscape. Each image is 45 X 60 cms. Each picture stands alone, but is also a part of the series. One group consisting of four themes also suggests a short story sequence or scene. An open ended narrative that encourages the viewer to follow the story as it unfolds from one picture to the next. The general themes are open to intrepretation on their own or as a group. They may convey a sense of foreboding, depicting a darker side of life and death. However, in contrast some offer up a lighter side of life with humor, satire of Hollywood culture. The juxtaposition of images side by side also offers a broader dramatic sensation. The fantasy vampire figures along side impressionistic landscapes encourages the viewer to imagine their own narrative. The abstract images suggest transformation or change. The carnivals in the this series provides added drama within the fantastical story. Keanu Reeves and Emily Blunt are the main vampire characters in this story. They provide an opening and transition to the real world of Hollywood style cliche horror films. Other secondary characters suggest how the story could unfold. For example, flashbacks to childhood  with the picture: Growing up around vampires. I have my own story that I created that goes with the series. I show it when the series is completed at 12 sequences totalling 48 pictures for this series.
